After being married for nearly ten years, my husband Bob and I weren't enjoying the kind of excitement that we had back at the beginning of our relationship. Throw two kids into the mix, and our lives had become a sort of dull, boring, day-to-day existence. Of course, I knew that over time the initial thrill of meeting someone knew was bound to wear off; I was growing more and more concerned, though, as it felt as if my husband and I were truly growing apart. It became obvious that I needed to do something, quick, before our marriage collapsed completely; the only problem was, I didn't know what to do.

Help Arrives In A Surprising Way

Around the same time that I was realising the need for a few changes between my husband and I, a close friend of mine named Kate kept telling me about these adult toy parties that she'd been throwing and attending. "I'm telling you, just try one lingerie party out - I'll even go with you," she urged. "I promise, if nothing else you'll have a great time and might meet a few new people. Who knows, you might even find something sexy to bring back home for Bob," she said with a twinkle in her eye. After hearing these appeals for weeks on end, I finally caved in and agreed to go with her to a party.

More Than I'd Bargained On

Since I was going to be attending the lingerie party with Kate, I wasn't nearly as reticent or shy about it as I would have been otherwise. Still, I was a bit on pins and needles when we arrived at her friend Sue's house. Fast forward about an hour later, though, and I was having the most fun I'd had in ages. Although lingerie and various toys were definitely a huge part of the event, the primary concern seemed to be having a great time. Between playing a few hilarious games and socialising with a fun group of women, I discovered that I'd really been missing out on a lot of fun.

Bringing Home Some Goodies

Before the party wrapped up, I decided to be a bit daring and bought a set of lingerie that was unlike anything I'd ever worn before. "I may or may not wear this for Bob," I told myself. That night, though, I enjoyed a nice glass of wine and decided to go for broke. Bob was already in bed, reading a book, when I made my entrance in my new lingerie. Suffice it to say that he didn't get a page further in that read - and that we had one of the most exciting evenings in a long time.

A New Lease On Our Relationship

Believe it or not, but that single night made all of the difference between Bob and me. From that point forward, I was a lot less shy about dressing up a bit for him - and he responded with more passion than I'd ever thought possible. Today, we routinely enjoy experimenting with various toys and I love nothing more than dressing up special just for him. Our friends can't believe how happy we are again, and I can sincerely credit the lingerie and adult toy parties that I've attended for a lot of that happiness.
